A judge has ruled that a US serviceman accused of causing the death of a motorcyclist by reckless driving can be prosecuted.
Deputy Senior District Judge Tan Ikram said Mikayla Hayes, 24, should stand trial in UK courts over the death of Matthew Day.
Day, 33, died after a red Honda Accord collided with a Yamaha motorcycle he was riding on the A10 in Southtree, near Downham Market in Norfolk, on 26 August.
Hayes chose to be tried by a jury at the Crown Court and pleaded not guilty following a verdict at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
The judge ruled against the US Air Force’s claim of jurisdiction, meaning it would be prosecuted through the English courts.
