Umar told police that his brother Asad met him after returning from Bareilly jail with other attackers and later met his uncle Ashraf, who finalized the plan to kill Umesh Pal. Assad informed Omar of the plan and that the attackers would murder Umesh Pal on the instructions of his father Atiq and uncle Ashraf.
Police officials said evidence collected earlier, statements of the arrested accused and interrogation of Umar and Ali pointed to their involvement in the conspiracy to murder Umesh Pal.
