BJP responds to Pakistan leader’s praise for ‘Rahul Sahib’ wealth distribution

Former Pakistan minister Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday once again praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Praising the latter, Chaudhry said Gandhi was following in the footsteps of his great-grandfather Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first prime minister, who once believed in socialist reforms and distribution of wealth.

Addressing the Wayanad MP as “Mr Rahul”, the Pakistani leader emphasized on the equitable distribution of wealth, which according to Rahul Gandhi is the biggest challenge facing capitalism in Pakistan and India.

Earlier this week, the former Pakistani minister sparked a political conflict by praising Wayanad MP for targeting the saffron camp during the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir.

In a video shared by the Pakistani leader, Gandhi spoke about the inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and asked if poor people were invited to the event. The Pakistani leader, who was criticized for supporting Rahul Gandhi, added: “Because I stand against extremists and hate mongers, whether in Pakistan, India or elsewhere…”

The Congress party, however, claimed that the Pakistani leader was under pressure to make the remarks so that the BJP could benefit from such remarks in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Party leader Rashid Alvi claimed Chaudhry was under pressure from the government of Shehbaz Sharif, who has good relations with the prime minister. Alvi added that the statement praising the Congress leader was made so that Prime Minister Modi could use it and benefit in the ongoing polls.
