Former Delhi MLA says he received death threats from Khalistani extremists, complains to police

Former MP Jitender Singh Sunti filed a complaint with the Delhi Police on Monday, claiming that he had received death threats from a Khalistani extremist.

Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sewa Dal president and Padma Shri recipient Shunty also wrote to Deputy Commissioner of Police Shahdara and SHO Vivek Vihar Police Station.

In the letter, he claimed that he received a WhatsApp call on Monday in which the caller spoke to him in Punjabi and asked for his son’s name.

“My son and I were threatened with dire consequences and even death for speaking out against Khalistan. I filed a complaint seeking further action,” Shuti said.

He said his son Jyot Jeet, who is the national spokesperson of the BJP in Delhi, has been vocal about his views against Khalistan terrorism.
