Lahi Rice’s ongoing legal troubles

Just a month ago, police filed eight charges against Rice following a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas on March 30 that injured at least seven people. At the time, Rice and SMU football player Theodore “Teddy” Knox were said to be driving two luxury sports cars that were ultimately implicated in the speedster accident.

An arrest warrant affidavit said Rice was driving at 119 mph before the two-car collision in the 6600 block of North Central Expressway, The Dallas Morning News reported. Photos show Rice and four others fleeing the scene without looking back to provide any support to those affected.

As a result, Rice faces charges of aggravated assault, one for collision resulting in serious bodily injury and six for injuries resulting from the collision. Both Rice and Knox turned themselves in to authorities two weeks after the crash. They also quickly posted bail.
