Kelsey Grammer is taking a role in the new Christmas movie, 12 days of christmas eve, that he is ready for all his life. Starring alongside his daughter Spencer Grammer in the film, the two play a father and daughter duo with a strained relationship.
Turns out, the two didn’t get to do much acting in the film. Their relationship has been rocky over the years.
in a recent interview with PeopleKelsey accepted that she and her daughter have had a strained relationship ever since she was just a child. The two become strained when Kelsey separates from Spencer’s mother, actress Doreen Alderman. Spencer was just a kid at the time.
The actor shared how he didn’t have much time to spend with his young family when Spencer was born in 1983. The following year, Kelsey played Dr. Frasier Crane encourage, The show called for a grueling 20-hour workday, which didn’t allow her to see much of her daughter.
Kelsey commented, “I’m certainly sorry I let her down a couple of times.” “Apparently she was a child of divorce.” The actor further added, “It was tough on us.”

The film tells the story of a father who prioritizes business over his family. With the plot in mind, Kelsey knew that his daughter would be the most suitable person to act opposite him in the film.
“It seemed like the right idea to me,” Kelsey recalled. However, he didn’t know if Spencer would want to do it. “I said, ‘We have to make sure she wants to,’ because you never know,” Kelsey said. “We all blow hot and cold like fathers and daughters.”
When Spencer was asked to take on the role, she was hesitant at first. However, the actress soon got the idea and realized that it would be fun to work with her father for the first time on screen.
“There are definitely aspects of this film that affect me personally,” Spencer commented. “First of all, it is somewhat unique to play a daughter to her real father. He’s also been such an incredible influence on my craft and my performance and my work ethic, so it was really quite a pleasure working with him.
The actress said that the experience was good for her and her father. He said, “To be honest, for the month that we shot, it was incredibly fun and wonderful to spend time with my dad.” “I think it was really healing for us.” Spencer added with a laugh, “Thank you Lifetime, for the therapy!”
