Lok Sabha elections a contest between constitutional ‘rakshak’ and ‘bhakshak’”: Akhilesh Yadav

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said the Lok Sabha elections in the country are a contest between the “rakshak” (protector) and the “bhakshak” (destroyer) of the Constitution.

Addressing an election rally in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Yadav said the public has supported the Samajwadi Party and the Hindu Bloc in the polls held so far.

“The wind against the BJP has continued since the first phase and efforts are being made to eliminate the ‘Emperor of Lies’ by voting against him,” Yadav said.

“The current Lok Sabha polls are a constitutional reversal election with ‘rakshak’ of the constitution on one side and ‘bhakshak’ of the constitution on the other. This is to save the country’s constitution, democracy and reservations.” Poor and deprived people ,” he added.

The Samajwadi Party leader claimed that it was time for the public to express their displeasure against the BJP.

“If we look at the accounts of the last ten years, whatever the BJP says is false. Be it doubling farmers’ income, providing two crore jobs every year or bringing down inflation,” he said.

Yadav said the BJP government had introduced three contentious farm laws in the Lok Sabha and when farmers protested, they erected roadblocks and lined the roads with nails to stop their movement.

“Though the government later withdrew these laws, the fight for minimum support price (MSP) is not yet complete. Farmers are still not getting price for their produce,” he added.

Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Akhilesh said: “We want to tell those who want to be Vishwa Guru that unless the income of our farmers increases, they will not get MSP and our farmers will not be happy. We The country will not develop.”

Samajwadi Party leader claims that over the past decade, the BJP government has exempted $Rs 1,600 crore was provided to leading industrialists but it neglected to treat farmers’ loans the same.

Yadav further promised to waive farmers’ loans if Bloc India forms the government in Delhi.
