New Delhi: National Milk Day is celebrated every year on 26 November to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the father of India’s White Revolution. The largest agri-dairy development program in the world, Operation Flood was led by social entrepreneur Dr Verghese Kurien. With this effort, India has overtaken other countries to become the top producer of milk worldwide.

Talking about goat milk, it is said to be the most used dairy in the world. Its consumption levels are so high that it accounts for around 65–72% of the world’s dairy consumers. Also, goats are easier to raise than cows. This is especially true in emerging countries where there are insufficient resources for the general public. Goat milk also contains healthy calories, protein and lipids. As a result, most people choose goat’s milk over cow’s milk.
