Nykaa registers 75% GMV growth, 12X revenue growth on Day 1 of Pink Friday sale

Beauty and fashion e-commerce firm Nykaa reported a 75 per cent increase in gross merchandise value and a 12x increase in revenue on the first day of its Pink Friday sale, the company said on Friday.

The company said it recorded over 400 orders per minute on the first day of the sale, which began on November 21.

A Nykaa spokesperson said, “The Nykaa Pink Friday Sale has registered a 75 per cent growth in GMV as compared to last year. This year, the first day recorded over 400 orders every minute, taking the total order volume to 8 lakhs “

The sale will be live till November 28 on its website, app and Nykaa stores. The company claimed that the number of visitors increased by 37 percent to 10 million on the first day of Pink Friday.

“Due to the relatable brand offerings, unique visitors to Nykaa increased by 34 percent, from 4.3 million on Day 1 last year to 5.8 million this year. Among categories that performed well compared to regular days, Makeup purchases, skincare and haircare grew dramatically by 14X, 12X and 9X respectively,” the statement said.

According to Nykaa, 57 per cent purchases were made by buyers from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities collectively, which reaffirms our belief in the growing appetite for beauty in that market. Apart from metros, maximum orders came from Lucknow, Chandigarh, Ghaziabad, Jaipur, Guwahati and Jammu.
