Portal starts helping real candidate who was de-appointed: Bengal People’s Party

Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday launched a portal to help bona fide candidates who may have been affected by the Calcutta High Court order canceling the appointments of 25,753 people.

On April 22, a division bench of the Calcutta High Court canceled the 2016 appointments of all 25,753 teachers in all categories of secondary and higher secondary schools in West Bengal.

On May 3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing an election rally in Burdwan, directed the state units of the BJP to set up a separate legal panel to provide legal relief to those who have lost their jobs due to the School Service Commission (SSC). Real” Candidate Offers Help Scam.

“BJP will help those who get jobs on the basis of their merit. The Prime Minister has announced this. We have launched a portal and helpline for genuine candidates,” BJP spokesperson Samik Bhattachar Samik Bhattacharya said.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed the Calcutta High Court order terminating teaching and non-teaching posts in government and state-aided schools in West Bengal.

The decision comes as a relief to thousands of people who lost their jobs following the High Court’s April 22 ruling. The order also comes as a relief to the Mamata Banerjee-led government, which is facing the heat of a probe into the teacher recruitment scam. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating on orders of the Calcutta High Court.

The issue has become a major point of conflict between the BJP and the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal. While the BJP has been accusing the TMC of running a multi-crore recruitment scam in which at least three TMC legislators were arrested, the TMC has held the BJP responsible for the cancellation of appointments.

“We have heard of man-eating tigers. Have you heard of job-eating parties? The BJP has eaten into these jobs. They stopped central funds to deprive Bengal of its benefits, did not settle dues worth hundreds of millions of rupees and now Cannibalizing employment opportunities. I felt relieved when the Supreme Court stayed the High Court order,” TMC chief Mamata Banerjee said while addressing an election rally in Hooghly on Wednesday.
