Ranchi college student was gang-raped by two men and committed suicide

The Ranchi police in Jharkhand have registered a case of abetment to suicide after a second-year forestry student of Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) committed suicide on Sunday and Monday night, two months after she was gang-raped by an acquaintance.

A police official familiar with the incident said the first information report (FIR) was recorded in the statement of her mother, who filed the complaint on Tuesday, a day after the woman’s autopsy was conducted at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences The last rites were performed. (RIMS).

Kuldeep Kumar, in-charge of Sadar police station, said, “An FIR has been registered under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) and investigation has begun.”

“Neither the police nor the woman’s family have information about the gang rape, but according to two suicide notes one month apart provided by the woman’s family, a gang rape occurred on March 6. The suicide note listed two people involved in the gang rape. The name of the young man was gang-raped. We are trying to find out the circumstances under which the woman wrote the suicide note two months before she committed suicide. She did not inform anyone about the gang-rape,” Kumar said.

A police official familiar with the case said: “On May 5, the woman went to sleep in her room after eating dinner. The next morning (May 6), her room door was not opened until late at night, Sensing something was wrong, her parents broke into the house and found the woman dead. After the police were informed, her body was sent for autopsy and an FIR was registered the next day, according to the woman’s mother’s written statement.

Police officials said: “According to the suicide note, two young men, Anand Minz and Arvind Jindo of Katitand under Latu police station, called the woman on March 6 and asked her to The gang rape was carried out near Kokar Chowk under the jurisdiction of Dal police station.”

A police official said the suicide note did not mention how the rapist called the woman.

According to police, the woman blamed the suicide on the two men. “The reason for my suicide was Anand Minz and Arvind Kindo, residents of Kasitand. On March 6, they lured me into Kokar Chowk and then gang-raped me I will not survive the suffocation. So I am going to apologize to everyone…! It was all caught on CCTV,” she said.
