Sik-K’s legal team issues clarification

Citing reports from TenAsia, Soompi further added that tests conducted by the National Forensic Service during the police investigation came back positive for cannabis. Now, Sik-K’s legal representative has issued an official statement to clarify the matter.

The statement read: “Sik-K did not go to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul drunk. His behavior when calling the police was not due to drug use, but due to post-surgery insanity.”

According to the statement, Sik-K underwent surgery under general anesthesia to treat a shoulder rotator cuff injury he suffered while serving in the military. He continued to take sleeping pills until he was discharged from the hospital on January 18 this year. It added that this caused him to develop symptoms of delirium on the morning of January 19, leading him to run away from home.

The statement added, “Sik-K has surrendered to charges of simple possession of cannabis and smoking and admitted those charges. No ingredient Philopon (a form of methamphetamine) was detected in Sik-K hair test results submitted during the investigation .” On April 18, the Yongsan Police Station transferred Sik-K to the Seoul Western District Prosecutor’s Office for violating the Drug Control Act, and he was not detained.
