Sanjay Leela Bhansali has finally responded to criticism over the historical inaccuracies of Hira Mandi. Sanjay Leela Bhansali justifies his legendary approach

When asked about the accuracy of his epic performance, Sanjay said: “In my opinion, it’s the most romantic place. I come from that world. I always watch movies in cinemas with pimps and prostitutes. .My films always have a dramatic touch and a larger-than-life approach that’s not subtle or refined, but there’s a dignity in telling it on screen because I’m committed to it. The visuals. It has to be worth being there because I’m reliving a moment in my life, this life, maybe a past life.”

He further added: “I have a responsibility to bring an experience to my audience, and I will give them the most complete experience. I’m not here to make money, I’m here to make movies. I’m here to bring you experience.”

About the constitution

Heeramandi is based on the pre-partition red-light district of Heera Mandi in Lahore (now part of Pakistan). Sanjay’s magnum opus chronicles the lives of the Hira Mandi prostitutes and their relationships with the Nawab at that time. Hira Mandi’s narrative revolves around the betrayal and exploitation of British colonialism in the context of the Indian Revolution.

Heeramandi stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, Shekhar Suman and Adhyayan Suman in pivotal roles. Fardeen Khan, Farida Jalal, Jason Shah and Mark Bennington also play important roles in the series.
