Banks in many cities across several states across the country will be closed on May 7 after the third phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Voting will be held on Tuesday to elect the state and Union Territory legislators from 93 Lok Sabha constituencies in 12 states.

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list, its regional offices in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Panaji and Raipur will be closed due to the Lok Sabha elections on May 7.

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases across India. The first phase will be carried out on April 19, and the second phase will be carried out on April 26.

Here are the towns where Indian banks will be closed on May 7

  • Assam: Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Guwahati
  • Bihar: Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, Khagaria
  • Chhattisgarh: Sargujja, Raigarh, Chanjigir-Champa, Korba, Bilaspur, Durg, Raipur
  • Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu
  • Goa: North Goa, South Goa
  • Gujarat: Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Mahsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad East, Ahmedabad West, Surendra Nagar , Rajkot, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Anand, Kheda, Panchmahal, Dahod, Barrow Dar, Chota, Udaipur, Baruch, Badoli, Navsari, Valsad

Notable personalities in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024

More than 1,300 candidates, including about 120 women, will contest in the third phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on May 7. Some of the big names whose election results will be decided by voters include Union Ministers Amit Shah (Gandhinagar), Jyotiraditya Scindia (Guna), Mansukh Mandaviya (Porbandar), Parshottam Rupala (Rajkot), Pralhad Joshi (Dharwad) and SP Singh Baghel (Agra). Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Vidisha) and Digvijaya Singh (Rajgarh), Supriya Sule (Baramati), Dimple Yadav (Mainpuri) are also participating in the third phase.
