The SIT issued an announcement saying: “The Karnataka government has set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the alleged sexual assault on women in Hassan district. If you are a victim or have information about the sexual assault case in Hassan district, please Call the helpline at 6360938947. The team also promises that those who report crime through the helpline will remain anonymous.

A Mysuru woman was allegedly kidnapped by HD Revanna’s close aide and her family had earlier lodged a police complaint. However, a case of kidnapping was lodged with the JDS MLA along with a case of sexual harassment and SIT officials arrested him on Saturday night. The woman who was allegedly kidnapped was later rescued by SIT officials.

Prajwal Revanna, the prime accused in the sexual harassment case, has reportedly fled the country and a blue corner notice has been issued for his arrest.

According to reports, nearly 3,000 obscene videos involving Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Devegowda, are circulating in Hassan district and he has been suspended from the JDS.

Prajwal Revanna requested to return to India within seven days to respond to the SIT notice, but his request was rejected. The blue corner notice was issued after the defendant ignored two notice notices issued by the SIT.

Some reports said the 33-year-old MP may surrender to the police at Bengaluru airport on Monday. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to revoke Prajwal Revana’s diplomatic status and help him in his global travels.
